Abstract:
With the π-WAM we ventured into an alternative WAM inside the
same Dogelog Player Prolog system. The idea consists of
having a more specialized WAM besides the general WAM, that
allows the execution on parallel CPU and GPU backends. The work
progressed pretty quickly from a very simple first prototype
that implemented a reduced WAM based on ideas from the famous
Hack computer science educational project. It then quickly
progressed from 16-bit instruction set to a 32-bit instruction
set that integrates into the Dogelog Player surface compilation
of Prolog code. The parallel CPU backend already proves that
we can leave the MLips regime and enter the GLips regime.
